AASD
Every Child Study

A district-wide team of 12 parents, students, and staff are learning about the impact of biases and social identity on student success in Appleton Area School District schools.
Are you a student or staff member or caregiver in the Appleton Area School District? We are eager to hear from you! Your participation is what will make this study happen. Without you, our data will be incomplete. CARES facilitates action research because we believe that our schools can and should be a place where all students succeed. We know that the work of continuous improvement lies in understanding the experiences and ideas of our students, staff, and family members.
Our Guiding Questions
We won't ask these questions directly. The ideas here show what we are interested in learning about.
What are the perceptions of our students, staff, and administrators around addressing bias and racism in our schools?

What is the perceived and documented access to and impact of school-based culturally and linguistically responsive counselors, school psychologists, social workers, cultural specialists, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinators?
Our Study Protocols
We designed a mixed methods study to meet our goal of learning in deep ways about how people in our community think.
