Meet our Facilitators
Dr. Jesus Smith
Jesús Gregorio Smith is an Associate Professor and chair of the Ethnic Studies Program as well as an Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Andrew W. Mellon Fellow. He received his PhD in Sociology in 2017 from Texas A&M University where he studied the intersections of systemic racism, masculinity, and sexuality and how they influence mental and sexual health.
Innocent Irenge
​Innocent Irenge lives in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a dedicated and compassionate professional committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families facing various challenges. With a Master's degree in Social Work, Innocent has honed his counseling, advocacy, and community outreach skills to support vulnerable populations. He is a vocal advocate for policies that address inequality and discrimination; he is also involved in advocacy efforts to promote social justice. Innocent is deeply committed to creating a more just and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Hilary Haskell
Hilary Haskell lives in Appleton, WI. She worked as an English Learner educator and Instructional Coach in the Appleton Area School District for 10 years before co-founding CARES Fox Cities and Hope & Help Together in 2022. She studied education, Spanish, and voice at Lawrence University, and received a Masters in Education in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University. She is inspired by the youth and community members she is lucky to work alongside every day. She loves to facilitate in spaces that uplift everyone's talents and voices.
